Salmon Fishing

We generally use double handed fly fishing rods when fly-casting and fly fishing for salmon
we can also use single handed fly rods for smaller salmon called grilse.

Double handed fly casting

I am qualified to teach the following casting styles(right or left handed)

• Roll cast
• Jump roll
• Overhead
• Single and double Spey
• Casting in windy conditions
• Casting short and long lines
• Casting further and shooting line

I also teach more advanced casting styles including, snake roll,circle cast, snap tee and line mending
 
Double handed fly fishing

We use this method mostly on rivers although we can fish for smaller salmon using single handed rods.        
                                                                         
I teach various methods for fly-fishing for salmon in:

• Fast water
• Slow water
• Deep water
• Rocky potted water

Spinning and bait fishing for salmon

I teach various spinning and bait fishing techniques for salmon

• worm fishing
• shrimp fishing

I can give advice on the following:

Safety-clothing,wading etc

The equipment - you may not have the right equipment! I can supply the right rods, reels, lines and flies etc.

The water craft - the ability to read the water and tell where the fish are.

The tatics - the techniques and stealth to decieve our quarry. The right fly selection.
