Biography
Welcome to saul roberts fly fishing, fly casting,stillwater and river guiding service. I am a professional game angling instructor operating in the south Wales area.
I started fly fishing at the age of 9 when I moved from Newport South Wales, to a village called New Inn near Pontypool a few miles away.
Just down the road is a river called the afon llywdd a tributary of the river usk which is a famous spot for salmon and trout fishing. I have spent most my life fishing these two rivers and will spend the rest of my life fishing them. I also fish the river wye which flows through both england and wales.The river wye and its tributaries the irfon,arrow,lugg and monnow also provide excellent winter grayling fly fishing.The river ebbw and its tributary the sirhowy is also in my area.The river neath is also close to me and is an excellent sea trout and salmon river.I also live near llandegfedd reservoir which is an excellent trout water. There are also a few small trout still waters in my area,cwm hedd,duffryn springs,peterstone,cefn mably,big well,ravens nest and fairoak fisheries.The river ogmore is a gem of a river providing superb saltwater bass and mullet as well as sea trout and salmon flyfishing.
In 2002 I qualified as a S.T.A.N.I.C (Salmon and Trout Association National Instructors Certificate) fly fishing and fly casting instructor in both salmon and trout disciplines.I also hold a fishcoach.org government certificate.

I am currently working with top AAPGAI fly fishing and fly casting instructors to obtain the AAPGAI qualification hopefully in 2010
